Question: Should a person with high cholesterol eat Salmon which has a high content of cholesterol?
I am presently following a low cholesterol diet and would like to include more fish. Because salmon has a significant amounts of “good fat” I would also like to include it in my diet.

You can eat it, but limit your intake, a lot. As long as you are exercising with your low cholesterol diet, you should keep a pretty low cholesterol.

    salmon does not contain a lot of cholesterol. see what’s really in food here but not what people say is in it.

    Salmon hasnt that much cholestorol not as bad as tuna and mackerel anyway.

    P.S . at 21 I had very high cholesterol and doc said take tablets for rest of life- i never did and am 51 and only been to docs once in my life aged 7 for a corn !!!!

    This cholesterol crap is just a way of making money for someone somewhere

    Salmon (and shrimp for that matter) supposedly have a bit of cholesterol but they have never been shown to raise cholesterol in people.

    Salmon (like most other types of fish) is actually relatively low in cholesterol. It is also high in omega 3 oils which are good for raising your HDL (good cholesterol) level.
