  • Hippie Tree Hugger:

    Pros:
No longer contributing the the death of animals
    It’s healthier
    Better for the environment
    Less expensive
    I

    Cons:
    Less convenient at times
You’ll have some obnoxious uneducated omnivores telling you that your choice is stupid, unhealthy, or will say things like “God gave us animals to torture and eat” or “PETA means People Eating Tasty Animals”, and other overdone nonsensical statements.

  • Veggiehotgirl:

Pros: You save innocent animals, you’ll be healthier if you do it right, you won’t have to worry about cooking meat thoroughly and it helps save the earth. Cons: Less convenient in restaurants and cafes, ignorant people might tease you about your vegetarian choice and you have to check labels for hidden animal ingredients like gelatin or carmines.
You can watch some animal slaughter videos on YouTube which should help keep you away from meat. You could also eat fake meats like Quorn or Linda McCartney or if you live in the USA, Morning Star Farms fake meats for protein and help fix any meat cravings. You could also eat hummus, eggs, beans, tofu, grains, seeds like quinoa, nuts, peanut butter and dairy products. Some vegetables like mushrooms even contain protein. Green vegetables are a good vegetarian source of iron and has been know to help protect you against cancer. Hope this helps.

I am not a vegetarian, but I recently cut out meat that is not organic or properly raised. This makes me an almost vegetarian because I can’t afford to buy this type of meat very often!

    Pros

    1. I personally do not feel heavy after meals any more. Just light and full.
    2. I am more aware of the nutrients in my food since I am compensating for meat protein.
    3. Fiber, fiber, fiber.
    4. Weight control.
    5. Knowing I am not contributing to the meat machine and humiliation of animals.

    Cons

    1. Steak, ham, chicken…so tasty.
    2. Social settings can be a pain (i.e. hot dogs at the ballpark)
    3. Some people feel you must explain yourself (You don’t have to! Do what you want! Tell them you hit your head and woke up a vegetarian!)
    4. You have to shop more often for fresh foods and it is a bit more expensive.

If you want to stick with it, hold the reasons your are taking this step close and take the time to discover vegetarian foods you love with powerful nutrients. For example, my personal favorite, an avocado, tomato, onion, (cheese), sprouts sandwich on whole wheat. I add a touch of salt to the avocado-yum!

Pros are: You live a healthier life style and you create less unnecessary waste.

Cons: You really don’t help animals in anyway cause most fertilizers contain euthanized animals and bone marrow od animals unless you eat organic, never expect to win a fight on strength rather than cardio, and you lose your mind…have a nice day ;)

Men by nature are both a meat and plant eater

Nature has ways to punish who does not follow its rules.

Therefore eating animals is a nature sanctioned activity. But as another such activity is not to contribute to extinction of species not condemned by nature itself, and men being the only living specie able to violate such principle, no animal in danger of extinction should be eaten. As known, some countries, as China and Japan, are collective violators of such and should be punished by human law, without waiting for the actions of nature!

Regarding health, as long as done moderately, there is no negative eating meat.
The fact that meat is necessary for development, is demonstrated by the fact that even fanatic vegetarians feed meat to their young children.

Regretfully, the vast majority of vegetarian are snobs, normally of the psudo-intellectual type

cons:many people think that vegetarian also means junkfoodtarian or junkfoodstarian.
