Question: Vegetarians, would you go out of your way to find a vegetarian roommate?
My current roommate who is not a vegetarian is moving out. In more than one aspect I am please about this.
One thing I absolutely could not stand was when he would cook prawns and the whole house would reek from top to bottom.
Also I believe most vegetarians have a more compassionate world view and would enjoy living with someone who shared such core values.

I am a vegetarian and I live with three other people, two of whom are vegetarians.
Living with other vegetarians is good, because they do have a similar worldview. However, this means that when I am at home my own worldview is not challenged when, and I don’t have the opportunity to challenge the worldview of others.
I am a vegetarian due to food shortages in the third world rather than through a belief in animal rights, so my housemates cooking meat doesn’t bother. When I meet people, I find that being a vegetarian is a good way of opening a discussion about issues of social justice.
