There are various things you can use but I’ve found Ener-G Egg Replacer to be the best. If you can’t find it, you can use potato and/or tapioca starches and warm water.

I went to the doctors a few weeks ago. He told me that i needed to lose weight; that this is why im getting sick. I didn’t really start feeling over weight until that moment. Well i didn’t really start thinking about it. Of course i knew ive gained a few pounds over the months. i didnt feel like im 160 somethng pounds but its reality. im almost 17 years old and im 5’8. what is the healthy weight range? Every girl now in high school seems so thin; sometimes im tired of being the “fat” one…I want to look cute in the clothes too! and i want to feel good about myself. this has really taken control of my self esteem. Every morning since that appointment; i get dressed and look in the mirror and just think in my head; wow ive really gain weight; please help!

Your serious answer is just to avoid trans-fats — stay away from Dunkin’ Donuts and junk food and eat right. It’s THAT simple. Anything advertised on TV, is usually awful for you (fact). There’s a ton of secrets in life — for you to discover on your own. One of them is, your weight and your appearance don’t matter as much as you believe — and do your best, be your best to look the way, YOU feel comfortable. Being 30-lbs overweight can be downright hot to many guys, believe it or not (at that) — if this is your concern. Your weight is right in line for your size, as you already know (I’m sure). Your are going to actually out-weight boys your age – because boys usually don’t have fat-stored the way HEALTHY girls do (at your age). It’s natural, by the way — because nature has you readying for motherhood and not doing so for men… (that’s nature, not society — we really shouldn’t think about procreating until you’re married & can afford a stable home life).
Don’t dress or behave for other people. Make yourself better for health and read/study more than anyone around you — believe me, that’s where self-esteem comes from ACHIEVEMENT and the bank account.

Well, I like to saute a little onion and garlic in some extra virgin olive oil.. when it begins to get brown, I add a bag of spinach and let it wilt down for a few minutes, then I add some mushrooms on top.

I was a vegetarian for about 10 months and would like to get back to it again myself. I felt so much healthier…did it right through the holidays too. Thanksgiving was easy, I didn’t realize this till that year, but the turkey is the ONLY meat on the table at my grandmas! I still cheated a bit in the fact that the stuffing was made in the turkey, but didn’t really contain any meat itself. It’s important to not get crazy, if some meat slips in now and again, it won’t hurt anything.
My first suggestion would be, if you don’t already, is change your drinking habits, drink only water, milk, tea and coffee. Soda pop will actually make you craze foods that aren’t good for you. Next be ready for some ridicule and resistance, especially from family. Mine were a pain, at first I slowed down on eating meat, limiting it, like once a week kind of thing and when I did eat meat, they were like ‘I thought you were a vegetarian!’

WHEN to eat for losing weight…
• Eat (at least) three times a day.
Because when you eat only once a day, your metabolism gets slower than it already is! That’s the main reason. Sounds funny, but to lose weight… you must eat (the right things, of course)
• Eat low-fat, high-fiber foods such as salads and vegetable pastas.
• Your last meal should be before 18:00. Try.
OK, one apple after 18:00
• Don’t starve
Starvation is not good for losing weight, nor your health.
Starvation is the worse thing you can do in a weight loss diet.
• Try oatmeal instead of cornflakes for breakfast–eating oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol levels, and its high fiber content will keep you full longer.
WHAT to drink for losing weight…
• Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day !
Can be tap, plain, mineral, sparkling. I just love mineral sparkling water!
This improves your bowel, reduces the “hunger” sensation, and hydrates your skin. Your skin will look much better after the first weeks!
Don’t believe the slogan “water makes me fat”. Beside being stupid… you might get into serious troubles with your kidneys.
• Drink ONLY natural juices, freshly squeezed!
Don’t drink Coca Cola, Pepsi, Spite etc. during the diet. Even lite or light versions.
• Avoid those vending machines by carrying around your own healthful foods and leaving pocket change at home.
Exercise for losing weight…
• If you want quicker results – exercise would be good.
• Don’t just sit in front of the TV and eat peanuts…
I guarantee THIS won’t work for your weight loss…
• Start a regular exercise program and stick with it. Don’t be afraid of those sweat suits and Lycra pants!
• Start swimming. Swimming is an excellent exercise to get involved with, since it increases blood flow and uses muscles we don’t regularly use. Start a swimming program and try to do it 3 times a week. You will feel excellent and rejuvenated.
• Choose an exercise program that you enjoy, and don’t shun the unconventional. For instance, did you know that regular vigorous dancing is exercise too?
• Also Cardiovascular exercises such as running, jogging, or aerobics will help you lose that unwanted belly fat. Weight training can also help you lose body fat because the more muscle mass you have, the more ability your system has to burn body fat.

I’ve been able to do stints of quitting meat cold turkey but I always succumb to the temptation after a months but I want stay on a vegetarian diet for good this time!

Don’t go in so suddenly. Here was what I did
What I did was only eat meat every other day, then every two days, all while giving up one animal at a time, from October to November in 2005. My plan was to have turkey one last time for Thanksgiving, so that was gonna be my last source of meat
My plan was beef, then pork, then chicken, then turkey (I didn’t count things like lamb, because I didn’t eat that regularly enough, so that was just out entirely)
HOWEVER, by late October, while doing this, I just said “you know what, I’m done with meat”, and I never looked back. I didn’t even have Thanksgiving turkey, and I was more than fine with it
So I’d say ween into it, but when you’re ready, you’ll know, and just end it all

horizons on 6th and south sts. pretty expensive, but high class and totally vegan serves drinks.(alcohol)
govinda’s is at broad and south. mostly vegan uses some dairy cheese-just ask for soy cheese., have vegan fast food- like cheesesteaks and their seafood wrap is awesome. has vegan desserts.
maoz on south st. indian
singapore – in china town totally vegan chinese
vesuvio in south philly- vegan friendly
aman’s- indian restaurant in norristown. has mock meats, but not totally vegan. not even a lil, but has fake shrimp, lamb, and chicken.
su tao- in malvern pa- this place is the bomb! totally vegan. has almost anything you can think of. buffet is cheap and has a good variety.
green light- in morrisville pa- vegan wraps and such. says they are vegan. and they are except they have honey in some smoothies…oy vey.

for exercise, you’ll need to do cardio 3 or more days a week (running, jogging, walking, biking). you should be doing cardio for a minimum of 30 minutes because for the first 20 minutes or so of moderate activity, you’re burning off what you ate that day. after the first 20min or so your body starts to take energy from your fat stores. but you don’t want to do cardio for longer than an hour because your body starts to take energy from your muscles (instead of fat or energy stores). So shoot for around 30-60 minutes of cardio. Running burns the most calories. (you want to burn calories & fat because to see sixpack abs, you have to get rid of the fat stored on your stomach area.) weight lifting also helps burn fat because the more lean muscle you have, the higher your metabolism is throughout the day every day. so pushups and weight lifting WILL help you get your sixpack faster, even though they don’t focus on the abs directly.
as for ab exercises, shoot for 50 crunches or situps in the morning & 50 at night. make sure you’re not just doing crunches & situps though. you need to mix it up to maintain results & work all the muscles. go to this website for the best ab exercises & pictures & descriptions of how to do them:

for your diet, try to start the day off with oatmeal and eggs. the oatmeal is high in b-vitamins which help keep energy levels high, is full of fiber to keep you feeling full longer, and is a complex carb so you’ll have sustained & good energy. eggs are a great source of protein (which keeps you feeling full & helps with muscle recovery & growth). i read a lot of bodybuilding articles & all of them suggest having oatmeal, eggs, or both as a breakfast. also, make sure you’re drinking 64oz (8 cups) or more of water a day. Try not to drink any juices or sodas, they’re high in sugar, calories & caffeine (which is a diuretic & will dehydrate you).
try to eat 5-6 small meals during the day if you can instead of 3 big meals. space them out at least 3 hours apart from each other. this boosts your metabolism & keeps your body burning fat around the clock. the best things to eat are lean meat protein sources (chicken, fish & turkey are the best) and vegetables. you could also try drinking a protein shake right after a workout to help enhance muscle recovery. look at the nutritional information (i’m not sure what brands you can get at walmart) and look for whichever one has the most protein with the least amount of calories or fat. if you’re feeling really hungry during the day, try to grab an apple (they’re high in natural fiber & low in calories) or a handful of almonds (high in protein, good source of complex carbs, source of “good fats”).
try to stay away from pastas, cereals, and breads as much as you can. you don’t have to cut them out of your diet completely, but try to eat less of them.
