Can I lose weight only eating carbs?

Question: Can I lose weight only eating carbs?
Basically, if I eat 1000 calories of carbs a day and excercise will I lose weight? I obviously don’t JUST eat carbs, but they’re filling, so they’re a lot of my meals. I mean, if I eat mostly carbs, but my overall calorie intake is low?

Yeah, it’s possible but you’re going to lose muscle and end up looking “skinny fat.” That’s even worse than being fat.

Do You Find Most Advice Out There On Eating Healthy Is Shockingly Horrible?

Question: Do You Find Most Advice Out There On Eating Healthy Is Shockingly Horrible?
Lately i have been trying to permanently switch my diet to eating entirely healthy, by which i mean, truly healthy. So no dairy, only baked fish for meat, no preservatives, no refined sugars, little grains, no fried food, no salad dressings or “Healthy Choice” meals, all that good stuff.

The problem then that I have been running across is looking up idea for healthy meals on the internet. I come across websites from well known resources, like the Food Network, that have “healthy meals” sections but when you look at what goes into their recipes, everything contains large amounts of “low fat” cheese and butter and milk and salt. There are “healthy” recipes for cheese cake and ham and donuts.

It just seems like someone that doesn’t know much about nutrition is going to be walking through a minefield of terrible advice from what would seem like trustworthy sources. How can someone not be annoyed by well known sources telling you that their “low fat ham and cheese dinner” is healthy? Or that you are going to be able to make healthy ice cream sundaes and cheese cake?

I can’t be the only one shocked and disgusted by the horrible advice on being healthy that is out there.

yes they all just want to sell their stuff, nothing else. Because I have taken the advice from these unknown folks selling their boring stuff to us. You should be aware of them. I have bought a E-book as I had decided to go with pure healthy meal. The book was about natural food rather then processed so this was become my first choice because book was offering Paleo recipes. I am really happy with about 400 recipes list.

I don’t think there is any one specific cause. I think genetic factors can determine how likely you are to develop it but something in the environment usually triggers it.

Q&A: How do you stay on track whith healthy eating?

Haha, yeah this is really hard for me…in my group of friends (3 of us) there is me and my other “fat” friend, then there’s the skinny bitch who is always calling asking to go out to eat, lol. anyways, it really helps if you keep the healthy foods you love in the house and dont buy any junk food. If its in your cupboard then you are more likely to eat it. It also helps if you keep some easy foods, like instant meals, I like Healthy choice steamers, or low fat yogurt, in case you don’t feel in the mood to cook.

I’m a vegetarian who wants to start eating fish. How do I work it into my diet?

Question: I’m a vegetarian who wants to start eating fish. How do I work it into my diet?
I have been a vegetarian basically my whole life. I am worried my body won’t be able to process the meat. How long will I eat it before it stops making me sick? Also, is there a way to approach this — What fish? How much? How often?

Advice appreciated!

would you consider this to be and eating disorder?

Question: would you consider this to be and eating disorder?
ok well first off this isn’t an “am i fat” question

lately i have started to eat a lot more frequently than usual. i’m barely ever hungry because i never give myself the opportunity to reach that point. i am constantly eating through out the day. i think i’m doing it just because i’m bored, because when i’m out of the house i’m not like this.

what scares me though, is now i’m even eating when i’m still full. it seems like as long as there is food in the house, i want to eat it. because there was i short period of time when we hadn’t gone to the grocery store in a while, so i knew we were low on food. and during that time, i didn’t have this constant desire to eat.

i’ve been like this ever since school ended [like a month and a half]. fortunately i’m not really gaining weight because i guess my metabolism is fast. but regardless, i think i have a problem.

i’m not depressed, and it has nothing to do with my period.
you can email me if you want more info

I do this sometimes?
I don’t think it’s an eating disorder unless you’re doing it nonstop and all the time?

Am I developing an EATING DISODER? I’M 13…Please Help!?

Question: Am I developing an EATING DISODER? I’M 13…Please Help!?
hi
i am 13 years 8 months and going into 8th grade
im 5’1 and 101-103 lbs
used to be like 96 lbs a few months ago
i am wanting to be 92 lbs at least

ever since I was 11 i have always counted calories and etc.
i feel like I look fat and everything. i wear tee shirts instead of like tight shirts
i weigh myself a lot
i count calories and feel guilty when I eat them. I feel lonely

I was disagnosed with depression when i was 12 (had nothing to do withh this)
i am terrified when I gain weight
I hear a voice in my head saying “you will always be a fat***” or “you’ll never be good enough

I have tried starving myself before, but it didn’t work out. I gave up. but right now I just eat very little, like 1000 calories a day and I skip dinner. i am dehydrated.

I have a low self esteem and im just so shy.
I dont do any sports. I am pretty though.

am I having a problem here? or is this typical teenage girl stuff??
If you have any questions I will add details

thanks x

It may just be that you are getting self conscious about your image…it comes with the beginning of your teenage years.

But one thing is for sure…starving yourself is never going to help you.

Try getting involved with more sports, maybe eat healthier instead of less, and don’t be worried about it that much…you sound like your fine :)

It seems like you are developing an eating disorder. Just so you know, starving yourself doesn’t mean you eat nothing, it means you eat less than what is minimally considered healthy. 1,200 calories a day is considered the minimum to eat daily. What you are doing now is considered starving yourself. Also, 92 pounds will make you a bit too slim. The FEELING fat is typical teenage girl stuff, but the rest of it (the voices in your head, the fear of gaining weight, the depression, the skipping meals, etc.), all screams anorexia. I suggest that you seek help for it right away.
