Question: Can vegetarians order a dish with meat and just not each the meat part?
is that the same thing? i don’t know if thats right for a vegetarian. any opinions?

I guess technically yes, however many vegetarians strive not to put their money towards the meat industry in any way. Indirectly paying someone to slaughter an animal regardless of whether or not they eat it is still supporting the slaughter of the animal, however there are many different reasons to go vegetarian so I don’t think my answer could apply to everyone. For ethical vegetarians, I’d say it’s a strange thing to do, especially if no one were to eat the meat part and it just goes to waste.

Our family makes maple syrup. We use no animal products (some use butter or other animal-based oil as a defoamer). Is it correct to say our maple syrup is vegan?

From reading some of the questions and answers I’m afraid some of them have. The internet and forums like this are good if you know your stuff already. I’d say 10 to 20% of what you can find on this forum is inaccurate to deliberately misleading.

It really depends on your diet. Low carb diets are about reducing/controlling how much sugar you eat. Low-fat are about limiting fat. But fiber fills you up so that you don’t want to eat as much later. So high fiber is good for almost any diet that I’ve researched.

Should I become a vegan or just a vegetarian?

Question: Should I become a vegan or just a vegetarian?
I want to lose weight, stay healthy, and reduce my risk for cancer.

I’m thinking about becoming either a vegan or vegetarian. Is there a significant health benefit for become a vegan as opposed to just becoming a vegetarian? I would hate to give up dairy products and eggs for no reason.

You can be healthy without going to the radical end of being a vegan. What vegans tend to not want to admit is the difficult in obtaining much needed vitamins in their diet (often done through vitamin supplements).

While you can go and become a vegetarian, the more reasonable and responsible approach would be to exercise, use portion control, and read the nutritional facts of what you are eating. Just because it says healthy on a box does not mean it actually is good for you.

Are overweight people just lazy?

Question: Are overweight people just lazy?
First off, I am not saying this is my complete opinion, I really just want to know what everyone else thinks, especially nurses, doctors, dietitians, etc. I do not have any medical expertise.

However, I have attempted to lose weight (about 40 lbs) successfully. I did this through diet and exercise. Everyone has an excuse for their weight problems: emotional eating, low income, medical problems, and so on. I do know that some medical conditions can cause weight gain so I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about people who claim they simply “cannot lose weight” or are “genetically predetermined to be fat”. Also, I think the money excuse is debatable. I am in college and have a very limited budget, but I have found that canned vegetables are cheap, and so is a big bag of fresh apples or frozen not breaded chicken breasts. You can even get a lean michelina’s meal for about a buck. Same as the dollar menu, so don’t say you can’t afford healthy food.

I think the main reason for obesity is laziness, what do you think?

Some overweight people just straight up do not care that they are overweight.

For the past three weeks I have been eating less than 800 calories a day, exercising, etc to reach my goal weight of 108. But then this morning I thought “this is so stupid, 108 is way to low. just be happy, stop being a mental case!” and I ate like crazy. Then, after that, I threw it all up because I couldn’t stand that I just reversed everything that I had done.
I don’t get it- if I were truly anorexic, which I don’t think I am, I would have never eaten tons of food. And, if I didn’t have a problem with food, I wouldn’t have gone crazy and then puked it all up.
The thing is I know that my behavior is totally stupid and unnecessary. Like, I don’t see myself as “fat” but as average. However, i get this complete high off of counting calories, being hungry, not being able to eat, and pretending to eat in front of friends/parents, like it’s some big cool secret that no one knows. It’s true, I reallyyy wish I could be smaller, but I think if I stopped I wouldn’t be a walking elephant or anything.
So, what is wrong with me? I really want to stop because I’m starting to feel totally crazy (and no one even knows or seems to suspect, which is good) but makes me feel all bad and secretive.

Don’t count calories, just try to be concious of what you eat. Like, don’t eat fries and pizza all day, eat lots of fruits and veggies. Also try to excersize, but don’t go overboard! Go on a walk, ride your bike instead of driving, little things like that.

Don’t go crazy, just try to live a healthy lifestyle. Your gorgeous the way you are.

Question: I smoke alot of pot and need to loose weight, will that put even more THC in my urine or just keytones?
Of course i smoke a lot so the THC is there for now, but if i’d be better off to maintain my weight to keep the levels as low as thay can be then i will hold off on going to the gym, but i really need to go work off the holidays ya know what i mean!

I was just thinking that if lossing fat, “where the THC is stored” puts something “keytones” in your pee then it sounds to me like a chance that the THC levels will get mich higher at first than if one were to just maintain what they have durring the days surrounding the test.

But maybe the potency in your system doesn’t change if you try to flush yourself out faster, because it’s not like you’re smoking more right? I stop today, i’ve been smoking almost daily for the last 3 months. It just seems like i could twist common knowedge into telling me to loose weight, maintain weight, or even gaining, i can find a way in my head to back up each answer.

I’m trying to loose weight and find a good job, give your best answers pleeese!!!!!
