Why do people assume to become vegetarian you must like animals?

Question: Why do people assume to become vegetarian you must like animals?
My dad has been vegetarion since he was 18 and he dosent care anything about animals he is vegetarian to benefit his body.

Answer:

Answer by Andromedan_Ambassador
No, the natural assumption is that if you like animals, you should be vegetarian (and ideally, vegan). The reverse, as you pointed out, is not necessarily true.

I don’t like the posers who go “Oooh I love animals but my body needs steak”. I’m sure these self-proclaimed animal lovers would not eat their cuddly dog, so why eat a cow?

Dichotomy,

It’s not just about the life of the animal; it’s also about the animal’s basic rights, including the right to live. If you don’t grant it that right, you don’t respect or love it.

Why do alot of Vegetarians like to have (Beef/Chicken Bullion) as an additive to taste like Meat?

Question: Why do alot of Vegetarians like to have (Beef/Chicken Bullion) as an additive to taste like Meat?
I thought that the reason/s why Vegetarians go Vegetarian is to stay away from Meat/s. So why do some Vegetarians like the taste of Meat?

Answer:

Answer by duncegirl
A lot of vegetarians eat that way for health or ethical reasons. They do not neccessarily dislike the taste of meat but don’t want the cholesterol etc. and/or don’t want to cause animals to suffer. There are bullion type flavorings that taste like meat but have no meat products in them. There are many different degrees of strictness of vegetarians from people who eat meat but only sometimes to people who do not even wear leather nor eat any animal products at all, not even honey because it is made by living beings.

Who would you like to see run for President in 2008. And why?

Question: Who would you like to see run for President in 2008. And why?
Personally I think Condi Rice would make a great candidate. She’s a She,
She’s Smart.
She’s Black
She is very likeable ( Sorry Hillary, you lose big here).
She is very unlikely to have scandals.
She is from the south.
If she would convert to Judaism she could singlehandedly take half of the reasons away from those who vote for Democtrats.

Q&A: I bought some Country Crock thinking it was butter, it tastes like crap?

Question: I bought some Country Crock thinking it was butter, it tastes like crap?
I’ve never eaten much butter ever, so I stupidly bought Country Crock thinking it was all butter. but when I got home I read the label correctly. When I tasted it there was an artificial taste. To my understanding, “hydrogenated soybean oil” is terrible for you and is a trans fat, yet it says there’s 0 trans fat? Wtf is going on, why don’t they put that there’s trans fat?

It must have been tested for the nutrition info. Do you know about the fats in real butter? I buy – I can’t believe it’s not butter light for a spread and blue bonnet margerine for cooking.

for exercise, you’ll need to do cardio 3 or more days a week (running, jogging, walking, biking). you should be doing cardio for a minimum of 30 minutes because for the first 20 minutes or so of moderate activity, you’re burning off what you ate that day. after the first 20min or so your body starts to take energy from your fat stores. but you don’t want to do cardio for longer than an hour because your body starts to take energy from your muscles (instead of fat or energy stores). So shoot for around 30-60 minutes of cardio. Running burns the most calories. (you want to burn calories & fat because to see sixpack abs, you have to get rid of the fat stored on your stomach area.) weight lifting also helps burn fat because the more lean muscle you have, the higher your metabolism is throughout the day every day. so pushups and weight lifting WILL help you get your sixpack faster, even though they don’t focus on the abs directly.

as for ab exercises, shoot for 50 crunches or situps in the morning & 50 at night. make sure you’re not just doing crunches & situps though. you need to mix it up to maintain results & work all the muscles. go to this website for the best ab exercises & pictures & descriptions of how to do them:

for your diet, try to start the day off with oatmeal and eggs. the oatmeal is high in b-vitamins which help keep energy levels high, is full of fiber to keep you feeling full longer, and is a complex carb so you’ll have sustained & good energy. eggs are a great source of protein (which keeps you feeling full & helps with muscle recovery & growth). i read a lot of bodybuilding articles & all of them suggest having oatmeal, eggs, or both as a breakfast. also, make sure you’re drinking 64oz (8 cups) or more of water a day. Try not to drink any juices or sodas, they’re high in sugar, calories & caffeine (which is a diuretic & will dehydrate you).
try to eat 5-6 small meals during the day if you can instead of 3 big meals. space them out at least 3 hours apart from each other. this boosts your metabolism & keeps your body burning fat around the clock. the best things to eat are lean meat protein sources (chicken, fish & turkey are the best) and vegetables. you could also try drinking a protein shake right after a workout to help enhance muscle recovery. look at the nutritional information (i’m not sure what brands you can get at walmart) and look for whichever one has the most protein with the least amount of calories or fat. if you’re feeling really hungry during the day, try to grab an apple (they’re high in natural fiber & low in calories) or a handful of almonds (high in protein, good source of complex carbs, source of “good fats”).
try to stay away from pastas, cereals, and breads as much as you can. you don’t have to cut them out of your diet completely, but try to eat less of them.

i hope this helped out! good luck! :]

I like Naked, Odwalla, and Bolthouse farms drinks. They’re in the produce section.
I’ve also begun drinking Goya fruit nectars. They come in a lot of tropical exotic flavors and they’re pretty good.
