Do You Find Most Advice Out There On Eating Healthy Is Shockingly Horrible?
Question: Do You Find Most Advice Out There On Eating Healthy Is Shockingly Horrible?
Lately i have been trying to permanently switch my diet to eating entirely healthy, by which i mean, truly healthy. So no dairy, only baked fish for meat, no preservatives, no refined sugars, little grains, no fried food, no salad dressings or “Healthy Choice” meals, all that good stuff.
The problem then that I have been running across is looking up idea for healthy meals on the internet. I come across websites from well known resources, like the Food Network, that have “healthy meals” sections but when you look at what goes into their recipes, everything contains large amounts of “low fat” cheese and butter and milk and salt. There are “healthy” recipes for cheese cake and ham and donuts.
It just seems like someone that doesn’t know much about nutrition is going to be walking through a minefield of terrible advice from what would seem like trustworthy sources. How can someone not be annoyed by well known sources telling you that their “low fat ham and cheese dinner” is healthy? Or that you are going to be able to make healthy ice cream sundaes and cheese cake?
I can’t be the only one shocked and disgusted by the horrible advice on being healthy that is out there.

yes they all just want to sell their stuff, nothing else. Because I have taken the advice from these unknown folks selling their boring stuff to us. You should be aware of them. I have bought a E-book as I had decided to go with pure healthy meal. The book was about natural food rather then processed so this was become my first choice because book was offering Paleo recipes. I am really happy with about 400 recipes list.

Do most grocery stores have a vegan section?
Question: Do most grocery stores have a vegan section?
I am trying to go vegan after seeing a video of how cruel and inhumane they treat animals at slaughter houses. This literally happened last night that I saw this video.
It seems silly to ask, but do grocery stores have sections strictly for vegans? It would make shopping a lot easier.
Have I seen how they treat vegetables? Yeah, sarcasm won’t change my mind at all here. Sorry. Animal abuse churns my stomach.

there shouldn’t be any dietary deficiencies in a well-balanced and varied vegan diet. Just do your research. Carnivores, especially those who eat junk food, have far more serious deficiencies,as they survive on processed,chemical,pre-packed crap….

i’m basically wondering if it matters whether i get my calories from fat, carbs, etc. in respect to weight management/loss.
will a 300 calorie chocolate bar (with 30g fat) be worse than a 300 calorie (0 fat) bowl of cereal for weight loss?
does the fat i eat in food simply get deposited in my fat stores, ie: love handles/gut?
Answer:
Answer by chickencoop42
There are two different kinds of “fat” you’re talking about. The “fat” that accumulates on your body (i.e. love handles) is because of an excess in calories, which your body stores, and uses later, as it needs to. The fat that you take in (from your chocolate bar) doesn’t necessarily become body fat, but the more foods that you eat that are calorie dense, the more likely it is to become stored as fat. This happens because although the chocolate bar is calorie dense it doesn’t necessarily have enough volume to keep you satiated.
For weight loss, I would go with the bowl of cereal, for one, it has grains, which your body needs for digestion and will help you feel fuller, longer. For two, you only really want to take about 30% of your daily calories from fat. You don’t really say what the rest of you diet is based on.
If you’re wondering what type of diet is best for permanent weight loss, I would talk to a doctor or nutritionist. For the best luck, though, you want a diet that supplies you with plenty of vegetables, lean meats, low salt, and plenty of water. Also, if you try and eat 5-6 small meals a day, about 3 hours apart, it can keep you from overeating, and keep your metabolism burning.

Surprisingly, most bread is vegan, especially bakery fresh bread that’s not full of preservatives like the kind at the grocery stores. You’ll just have to read the labels. Most non-vegan bakeries will have dozens of vegan bread, coincidentally.

“Top 3 Shocking Fast Food Industry Secrets
1. What you don’t know, CAN hurt you. Several chains and restaurants don’t even know or give you access to nutritional information for the food they serve. Some claim since they make everything by hand, it would be impossible to do so. Tell that to the nearly 50 chains that already do!
2. Fat is NOT just a number. The term “low-fat” is thrown around just about anything to give an illusion of healthier options. For example, Applebee’s “low-fat” chicken quesadillas pack a whopping 742 calories, along with nearly 100 carbs, in a single order.
3. The French’s secret. Ever had Burger King’s French toast sticks? Mmmm, they are so sweet and yummy, right? Did you know those seemingly innocent breakfast treats share the same trans fat-filled deep fryer with pork sausage, pork fritters, Chicken Tenders, chicken fries, Big Fish patties, hash browns, onion rings, and Cheesy Tots? The more, the merrier, right?!
Shocking, no? In fact, maybe it’s not. Perhaps we have just come to expect these kinds of misleading and downright harmful practices and chosen to accept them, simply because, “It tastes mmm, mmm good.”"
Good luck to you and have a pleasant day.
