Q&A: If you didn’t have a flat stomach as a teen, does that mean you’ll never have one?
Question: If you didn’t have a flat stomach as a teen, does that mean you’ll never have one?
I was chubby as a kid, and average now as a teenager. I’m 17, and have kind of a “pouch” of fat on my lower stomach and some “bra fat” I’d like to get rid of. I don’t play sports or work out right now, but when I go to college in the fall, I plan to start working out b/c I’ll have access to a rec center and I want to play intramural sports. Do you think I’ll be able to tone up then? I know people usually gain weight in college, but I think those are mostly the people who quit the sports they used to play in high school and now drink a lot.

I was always fat as a child, now I’m very healthy and not lumpy at all. It’s never too late or early to start taking care of yourself.

I’m concerned about my 13 year old daughter. A BMI of 15.02. She never exercises, but it’s still quite low?
Question: I’m concerned about my 13 year old daughter. A BMI of 15.02. She never exercises, but it’s still quite low?
This is her daily diet: Two weet-bix and lite milk, I tried to get her to put honey on it and also have a milo, but she insisted she didn’t, no recess or lunch, and then we went out for dinner, she had spaghetti with a napoletana sauce, then when we got home she had fruit salad, I make her eat this every night. It doesn’t seem enough but she won’t eat any more. She doesn’t openly tell me she won’t eat any more, but for example in the morning, I told her to have honey on her weet-bix and put it in front of her, but she said nothing and didn’t put it on. I put the milo in front of her and told her to drink it, but once she finished with the weet-bix she walked away.
She has a BMI of 15.02, (weighs 40 and is 164 cm tall, or 88 pounds and 5.32 feet) which I know is irrelevant with children, but it is classified as “severely underweight” in adults. She hasn’t started menstruating yet, but she has pubic hair, underarm hair, and has started developing breasts, which would suggest that she has started puberty, but there’s not any “puppy fat” that normally goes with that.

Encourage her to eat more, but don’t make it seem like you think she is anorexic. My mother did that to me, even though I was eating until I was full and it was quite irritating. I’m also very small. There’s nothing wrong with that. I never had any baby fat either really. I weigh 100 lbs and I’m about 5′ 6″ and I eat more food than many of my friends who are larger than me. If you’re really worried about it, maybe you should take her to the doctor to make sure there’s nothing physically wrong with her.

What foods would people never suspect were vegan?
Question: What foods would people never suspect were vegan?
I’ve read some food labels and been surprised to find out that some of the foods that I eat on a regular/semi-regular basis are vegan-friendly. I’m not vegan, but I’m interested in the foods.
What foods do you know of that people would never suspect were vegan? Popular foods? Family staples?
What foods are vegan substitutes that taste good?

I would never be in a relationship with a guy that has a “perfect” body, is that a sign of low confidence?
Question: I would never be in a relationship with a guy that has a “perfect” body, is that a sign of low confidence?
What I mean by “perfect” body, is muscular all over with a flat six pack and firm pecs. Adonis type men, you know? I’m already in a relationship so it doesn’t matter. But I met a guy who fits that description yesterday at the pool, yes it’s still hot where I live even in October. Anyway, the guy’s name is Aaron. He’s 23 years old. He has a gorgeous face and an awesome body, six pack and all. He flirted with me yesterday and we got into a long conversation varying from subject to subject. Aaron said in a joking yet serious way “Wow, if you didn’t have I man, I would love to be your man”
I laughed and told him I was flattered and that was the end of that. First of all, I love my boyfriend Juan with all my heart. In the gay community, it’s a known fact that “fat” guys are near the bottom of the list. But personally, my man is chubby and I love chubby men. I always did. I love that big belly and all
. But even if I was single and Aaron asked me out, I would definitely have sex with him but NEVER anything serious. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to label all “hot bodied” men as unfaithful but maybe the probably isn’t always them. I don’t want to have to worry about what other gay guy is checking out my man and trying to get in his pants. Screw trust. That’s how people get dissed. I don’t play that crap. I’m known to be a little possessive and I’m willing to fight physically or verbally for what’s mine. LOL I’m like a crazy black woman in a skinny white/latino boy’s body. I always carry myself with pride and I always think highly of myself. Still and all, is my reluctance to date a guy like that a sign of low confidence?

You aren’t dumb for not discovering new lands – you just have little interest in exploration
And Japan didn’t have that many people when Australia was founded.
