How do I find others who are also vegetarian?
Question: How do I find others who are also vegetarian?
I have felt that I need to be with someone who’s vegetarian to show me how to live that lifestyle. It’s hard to understand how to go vegan really. Especially, when the rest of your home doesn’t follow that diet. I have heard of groups that people can join about vegan. Does anyone know what simple and “guides for idiots on how to become vegan” tips you might have? Thank you.

Why is one brand of Top Ramen vegan and not the others?
Question: Why is one brand of Top Ramen vegan and not the others?
Nissin Top Ramen oriental flavor is vegan but not that one brand that starts with a M (I can’t rember what it’s called) I read both brands oriental flavor ingredent list but M brand had eggs. Why is that?
Answer:
Answer by Vegan
Maruchan oriental style ramen has beef in it, I don’t think it has eggs.
Maruchan used to have a mushroom flavor that was meat free, but that was years ago. They’re a very vegetarian unfriendly company.
Some of the other brands (that you find in an Asian market) are vegan and only slightly more expensive.

Question: My friend as really low self esteem, but shes pretty. I need others’ opinion to let her know that she’s pretty?
Im pretty sure she’ll be pissed when if she finds out about this, but she’s absolutely GORGEOUS and she doesn’t believe me, or anyone else.
We’re only sophomores in high school.
And she’s always saying “I’m so fat” or “Look at my pimples” or “I’m so ugly”
She’s always trying to diet and no matter what i do or say she wont believe that she looks fine.
I need help, I dont know what to do anymore to try to get her self esteem up.
p.s. i SWEAR thats not me, just fishing for compliments. Im in the picture actually, i just blurred out my face

What’s best way to encourage others to go vegan? Do you think vegans appearing on mass media causes change?
Question: What’s best way to encourage others to go vegan? Do you think vegans appearing on mass media causes change?
Woody Harrelson, Ellen Degeneres, and Joaquin Phoenix are very mainstream journalists and television hosts. Ellen regularly mentions her vegan diet. Do you think all of her cheerful fans receive anything out of her doing this. Her show airs every morning to tens of millions of people in the country. Does this cause change?
What is the best way to cause change and encourage others?
Answer:
Answer by Lean Mean Vegan Teen
the best way to encourage change is to start by opening up your friends to veganism by your words and actions towards yourself and them. don’t try to be hostile towards them as this never works and almost always ends up making them think lowly of you and then on not taking anything you say to heart. the best thing that you can do is to organize some nonviolent vegan activities in your community that show the world that vegans are humans too and that we are just as normal as them. We should be educating others in a nonviolent and nonhostile manner that promotes both inward and outward expressions in our listeners while triggering their emotions by a combinations of words, videos, and other media sources. Converting a person can sometimes be as easy as telling them that you are vegan and they see that you are healthy and happy and would like to be more like you, but other times you have to take it slow, but not waste your time on that one person if you see no differences in their attitude after a few weeks. Different people respond to different things so if one method doesn’t work on someone, don’t automatically think that they are a lost cause and just use your imagination to help you try plan B right onto Z. Celebrities to their part, but you can do your part too. Just remember this quote from abolitionist vegan Gary Francione – “The World is Vegan! If you want it.”

Q&A: Some say Bravo others say Boo…WTH?
Question: Some say Bravo others say Boo…WTH?
My son is 5 months and is strictly a boob baby, it has amazed me how everyone gives me crap about it and wants him to be on food. I mean, even my family Dr said “put the baby on food” I politely said “umm Nope’ He told me as long as he knows how to eat that it is ok but geez! I have started giving my baby 2 ounces of cereal a night just to give him a little texture but I had a 6 month goal and I feel like I am getting a lot of crap from it. How should I handle this, am I in the right? He is over 16 pounds and has NEVER lost weight since birth. He is happy, and eats like a horse but isn’t over fed, He is in the 63 % of weight and 55th % of height so I see nothing wrong.. Give me your opinion and let me know what the “NEW” standard is. Thanks!
We have a 6 month plan, personal choice only. He is gaining weight and has a great appetite. Im talking about the crap I get from people when they hear he is 5 months and still nursing. He will be 6 months in a few weeks and is already eating cereal. Food will start in the next couple of weeks

What’s wrong with starting him on a few solids?
I would continue to breastfeed, as well as introduce a few solids every now and then.

Q&A: how do you explain vegan/vegetarianism to others with out sounding preachy?
Question: how do you explain vegan/vegetarianism to others with out sounding preachy?
people will ask me why i am vegan. and i am just dying to tell them about what happens to that piece of animal muscle they have on their plate.but i also am very aware that the #1 thing omnivores dislike about vegans/vegetarians is that they try to convert them. as any one who felt strongly about a certain cause would want to do, i want to send the message out about the horrible reality that comes with the meat/dairy/egg industry that many many people don’t realize. but i dont want to give people the message that all veggies do is try and brain wash them. where is the happy medium?
(i mean if i was an environmentalist, i would want to explain to people what could be done to help the earth. its the same thing with wanting people to understand vegan/vegetarianism, you know?)
please no rude answers. only helpful ones.

politely explain that you have made the choice not to be involved in harming of animals and you based this decision on your own ethics and what you have read you are making the decision just as others make the decision to eat meat. you dont sound preachy if they ask you.
