Every year, my family contributes to a holiday potluck at christmas and thanksgiving, and even at easter. i would like to make some really good food vegetarian/ vegan food for my family. Any suggestions?

My friend is a vegan and i don’t really have much money so i wanted to make her something for her birthday. preferably something that she’s probably never had before. Does anyone know any interesting, yet extremely good vegan recipes that i would be able to make her. i’m going to see her sunday. preferably a simple one too.

Question: How do you eat a healthy vegan diet on a really busy schedule?
I know this doesn’t only apply to vegans. Omnivores also have a difficult time eating a healthy diet on a busy tooschedule hence the fast food industry. But my question is to vegans who probably eat most of their meals at home. How do you keep it healthy with a crazy schedule? What are some examples? Thanks.

Not a vegan but would suggest more raw foods
carrots
celery
black olives
peppers Green or other color bells)
jalapenos
jicima
any raw veggies and dip
fresh raw fruits
nuts
seeds
steamed vegetables with peanut butter/honey

I’ve thought about being a vegetarian a couple times before until I realized that you don’t get the regular protein and nutrients that you’re suppose to get daily. Is there other things that you can eat to have a regular protein and nutrients diet while being a vegetarian?

Yes, it is. With a proper diet, supplemented with the right nutrients a vegetarian diet can be just as healthy, if not healthier than a diet with meats. Also the types of proteins usually consumed by vegetarians, nuts, grains, vegetables, are much more healthy than meats and have many more essential nutrients and less fat, and cholesterol.

Well, one cup of cottage cheese does have 9 grams of fat:

So, yes, cottage cheese could be considered fattening. Farmer’s cheese is a lower fat alternative that is pretty similar to cottage cheese.

Refried black bean burritos with whole grain tortillas, salsa, guacamole
PBJ
Oatmeal with cinnamon, raisins, walnuts and soy milk
Smoothies with frozen fruit, juice, almond or coconut milk
Beans and brown rice
Fried rice with brown rice, tofu, green onions, garlic
Falafel with pita bread, cucumber, tomato, soy yogurt
Grilled “cheez” (nutritional yeast cheez) sandwich with tomato
Baked potato with broccoli
Romaine lettuce with tomato, cucumber, red onion, olives, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper
Raw veggies with hummus
