Am I over reacting or did I do the right thing to my mother? Sorry its long?
Question: Am I over reacting or did I do the right thing to my mother? Sorry its long?
Let me start my story off by staying my mother is a complete nut. I got pregnant at the age of 18 and didn’t stay with the father of my son. My mother demanded me that I will live with her and that I hand my baby over to her and can not leave her house hold until my son turns of age. When things don’t go my mothers way with what I wanna do with my son she flips and threatens to call the police and say I am being an unfit mother. Which is completely untrue. She has actually called the police on me a few times to report that “i abandoned my son outside and that I hit him and starve him of his food” Which is completely not true. He has no cuts nor scratches on him and he is a thriving almost one year old who weighs 22 pounds. So 6 months ago when my mother was out of town me and my son moved into an apartment. I started a good job and have a nanny watch my son while I work 9-6 mon to friday. So two weeks ago I get a knock on my apartment door. It was a lawyer serving me court papers. So I read it she is trying to say that I am unfit to take care of my son and I neglect him. So I completely stopped talking to her because all she has done is do drama to me and my son. She calls me and asks to come over and I always ignore her calls and ignore her emails and everything else. I basically called her the other day and told her I want her out of my life for good. She is now depressed and upset. Do you think I made the right move if you were in my situation??

Answer by Kidneys of Iron
The fact that you believe you will find a solution to what is obviously a long running family problem on the internet (or more specifically, the brain trust that is Yahoo Answers) makes me believe that you most definitely ARE a completely unfit mother.
Kyli: You’re totally right, it’s a brilliant idea to get advice from random people on the internet, especially when you can give them a slanted version of events and essentially use them to confirm your own bad decisions or ideas. It works even better when they are completely unaware of the scope of the situation, but can still dispense crappy, half retarded advice. What you have essentially said is that you are more qualified to advise people if you know less about their problem and who they are as a person. Do the world a favor and get a lobotomy, you complete and utter moron.
Essseee: Wow. Just when I thought I had run into the biggest dipshit on here, you decide to join the discussion. I looked at a few of your other answers. Apparently you are going around on the internet telling people that they “might be psychic” which speaks for itself as to your intelligence. I wouldn’t expect you to understand anything I write. Regardless, you are a classic example of the sort of people who inhabit yahoo answers: an idiot who should not be giving advice to anybody, about ANYTHING. Anyway, leaving all of that aside, I have already explained why your advice is worthless in the previous paragraph. I won’t restate what I’ve already written. Reading comprehension doesn’t seem to be your strength anyway. Try getting your Dad to read it to you if it’s too hard. Good luck, you pathetic little retard.

Don’t I have the right to be mad?
Question: Don’t I have the right to be mad?
I have an older sister. I’m 18, she’s 20. We have 4
dogs.. One of them is mine, than we share one because
my dog & her dog had a baby.. He’s 2 now. For the past year,
I’ve been taking care of them by myself. She NEVER goes out there
but every once in awhile. I bathe them, I feed them, I buy the food, I care for them
24/7. I never get a thank you, I never get a ” Hey let me buy the dog food. ”
On top of all of that, she’s selfish, gets to do whatever she wants, impatient &
very very hurtful most of the time.. And the other day, me & my mom were talking, I don’t
know if she said my sister was her favorite, or used to be her favorite. She said it was because she
almost gave her up. And I said ” You have a favorite? ” Then she said ” No, I shouldn’t have said that, I don’t have a favorite kid..” But that doesn’t matter, she told me she used to be her favorite, now I feel like complete crap, because in my mind I’m thinkin she’s still my moms favorite, and I’m
dirt.. I was just wondering if anyone could relate or anything.. I’m just REALLY REALLY upset right now..

Hey Emily,
Don’t feel like that !
I’m sure that your mother didn’t mean to say that.
I think that it was a statement that she just didn’t realize how to put correctly at that moment.
I’m sure that it was a shock to hear that.
You need to keep talking with your mom.
I know she loves you just as much as your sis.
Thank you for being so good to your doggies.
I’m sure that is appreciated too even though it doesn’t get mentioned.
At least your sis gets to enjoy hers even though she doesn’t verbally thank you.
Your a good person Emily.
Thank you so much.

Q&A: i want to flatten my ab area. is this the right way to do it?
Question: i want to flatten my ab area. is this the right way to do it?
i’m about 5 foot 4 or so and 120 lbs, which my doctor says is pretty average.
I took a really long break from playing in my tennis league for about two years, and now i’m paying for it. although my arms and legs are still conditioned well from tennis, i have gained excess fat in by abdominal area, but only in the front when i sit down. its not really a “jelly roll” but more of just “belly fat”.
im not sure what do to, but this summer i was thinking about taking advantage of the local track and feild near me.
the track surrounds a football feild and i think 4 laps equal a mile.
let’s say i ran about half a mile everyday for six weeks, consistenly, and added sprints in the run as well. in six weeks do you think i could lose the excess fat? flatten my abdominal area/belly area?
i also hear that taking cod liver oil supplements along with rigorous running/all over body excercise helps burn excess fat and lower high blood pressure. hence, i’d be “killing two birds with one stone”
if i ran, how long and how far should i run?
mile? 1/2 mile?

How can I consume the right amount of calories with being vegan?
Question: How can I consume the right amount of calories with being vegan?
I eat exactly how I ate before I became a vegan but am losing weight that I don’t want to lose and taking in a low amount of calories while doing so. I belief this is because of the suplementary foods that I eat are less calories than real meat and real milk and such. I’m only taking in 800 calories a day.
What kind of foods can I eat that are healthy but calorie filled to consume around 1400 calories a day?

No solids before six months, right?
Question: No solids before six months, right?
My baby is almost four months old and after a fair bit of research I’ve decided it’s best to hold off solids until he’s six months old, but my sister and my fiances mum keep telling me that he should be on solids by now which of course I disagree with.
I’m staying with my fiances mum for the week, while he is away as I don’t have a license yet and all I hear about is how my baby should be eating “real food”.
Last night was pretty bad, baby screaming from 2pm til 6pm because he is teething… but still she insisted that he wanted food, she even called the hospital to get backup from a midwife (didn’t even mention the teething) and apparently the midwife agreed with her.
So my question is, am I right in not starting solids until six months and how do I get people to stop harassing me about it?
Answer:
Answer by dmg
The current thinking is no solids until 6 months. But for a long time, the consensus was four months. So your sister and fiances mum are not wrong, they just have outdated information.
Google the subject and find an article, print it out and say “Look, things have changed.”

I want to lose extra body fat and tone up. Am I excercising and eating right?
Question: I want to lose extra body fat and tone up. Am I excercising and eating right?
Before anyone says anything about being happy with my body, weight, and overall self, I would like to say that I am. I do not think that I am fat, and I do not complain about being “fat.” So please don’t think that I have self-esteem issues and the like. =) On to the question!
So I’m a 4’11.5″ (or maybe 5′) asian female. I’m 18 years old and I weight about 106-108 (I fluxiate from week to week sometimes). I eat just about anywhere from 1500 to 2000 calories a day:
lean proteins (chicken breast, egg whites, fish),
the occasional not so lean protein (pork),
protein in liquid form (soymilk or protein shake).
green vegetables (broccoli, spinach, cucumbers, peas),
colored vegetables (peppers, carrots, corn),
high in fiber carbs (red rice, high fiber oatmeal, whole wheat),
fruit once a day (cantalope, green grapes, bananas, apples),
handful of nuts once a day (almonds, peanuts, cashews),
low-fat dairy products (yogurt, cheese, occasional bit of milk),
at least 2 pints of water everyday,
and 1 cup of green tea once a day.
I’m taking some vitamin suppliments (vitamin D, Vitamin C, B-12), but I’m planning on adding canitine, complex B vitamin, and iron suppliments to my diet.
As for excercise….
I do cardio for 30 min everyday in any form (usually very steady pace),
some free weights for my arms and shoulder everyday,
75-150 sits everyday,
and I play tennis for 2 hours anywhere from 2-5 times a week (but I play on a college team, so those 2 hours are mainly practice not actual matches).
I also walk around campus (I’m a college student) a lot. =)
So I get that I’m mainly eating right, except for the occasional indulgances (which I think are ok), and I would like to stress that I do not think that I am fat. I just want to lose extra fat around my mid section and tone up my body. I think that I gain muscle fairly easily because I’ve been on my diet and work out plan for about 2-3 weeks and my upper body is getting pretty toned. I was only able to use the 5 lbs. dumbells at first, but now I can use the 8 lbs. and I think I’m going to move up to 10 lbs. in a few days.
Just want some confirmation and feedback about my whole diet and work out plan. Am I eating the right amount of calories everyday? Am I doing enough excercising? Should I do some more weights? Should I do more cardio? Should I think about weight lifting for my lower body? More excercises for my core?
I’m a newby at this and I do all the research I can, because I want this to be long term. I don’t want a better body for just the summer season. I want to feel tighter, feel healther, and be more energetic for life.
Any amount of feedback would be great. I just want to know if I’m on the right track to getting a better body. Any tips are welcome as well. I would also love to know more excercises with free weights and for my core as well. I feel that sit-up alone might not be enough. And I’m going to start doing push-ups =D
PLEASE AND THANK YOU’S!

Yes I would say over all you are eating right, just switch over all that cardio to weight training more often. Most women I train on a regular basis have the same preconception than cardio is the way to go. Its not , weight training for 45 minutes for you whole body will produce much better results . Use low to med weights and high, high reps . My clients (females) use 5 and 8 lb dumbbells
Have a truly great day , everything is possible!

Q&A: If I am a healthy weight and work out and eat right, why do I have back fat?
Question: If I am a healthy weight and work out and eat right, why do I have back fat?
I’m 5’10″ and 138 lbs. I do 35 min. cardio 5x week, and lift weights every day, alternating upper and lower body. I eat less than 1800 calories a day and don’t have much of an appetite to eat more than 1500. I am pretty toned, but I have lower back fat. I can’t buy low rise jeans because I have this “back fat” issue. I think I look wierd, because I am fit yet have this fat. Is something wrong with me? What is going on? This is really bugging me…
I eat low carbs, very high in veggies. I get my fruits and eat a good amount of protein, not much fat.

Based on your height and weight, you have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of about 20.
Less than 18.5, and you’d be considered underweight.
This wound correspond to a weight of about 130 lbs.
Above 25, and you’d be considered overweight.
This would correspond to a weight of about 175 lbs.
Your Ideal Body Weight (IBW), given that you are a female and 5’10″ is 144 lbs.
Therefore, you are NOT overweight or fat.
You weigh just a little less than your ideal body weight, and you are not underweight.
-
Your body morphology at ideal body weight is influenced by exercise, and you state you are pretty toned…
This means your “back fat” issue is the result of your genetics, as your body morphology is simply the result of the body God has given you.
I doubt very seriously that you look “weird” (though I cannot see you, of course), and I bet it is much less noticeable than you imagine.
There are some diseases (such as Cushings Disease) that can lead to “back fat”, but this is usually up in the neck area…and associated with overweight people.
But if you wanted reassurance, I would see a physician to make sure nothing is wrong.
I hope this helps!

What is the right way to make vegan cream cheese frosting?
Question: What is the right way to make vegan cream cheese frosting?
Yesterday I made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting but the frosting came out as liquid. This happens every time I make any frosting. This time I put tofutti cream cheese, earth balance, and powdered sugar. Are you supposed to use stick margarine? Because there is no vegan stick margarine in any grocery stores near my house.

People seem to be happy with this recipe. Good luck. Maybe vegan cream cheese is not as firm as regular cream cheese. When I buy vegan pastry with cream cheese it is always a bit more runny.
